Week 3: Camera Angles in Major Motion Pictures
Kevin's Blog:
In the long shot I liked how the subjects were far away, but you can still see what they are doing. When I watched this scene I felt more of a sense of importance on the setting rather than the characters.
In the super close shot I liked how there was an emphasis on the eye of the subject. When I watched it I felt the importance of the character's eye and I got the feeling that it was a symbol for something else.
In the over the shoulder shot I like how the camera gave a different perspective for the conversation. When I watched it I felt like Brett was the emphasis in the scene, but the camera was still showing that Tyler was a part of the conversation.
Sydney's Blog:
In the POV shot I really enjoyed how the camera was not steady like in most camera shots. When I watched that clip I felt a sense of urgency as the camera moved closer to the subject.
In the tilt shot I liked how at first you cannot see the point of the scene but as it continues you see what the point of the scene is at the top of the balcony. I felt suspense building up as the camera moved to point upward.
In the follow shot I liked how the camera followed Loren rather than her getting farther and farther away. When I was watching that shot I felt a sense of importance for Loren because the camera followed her rather than watching her move away from the camera.
